After ten years since its launch, Canva is finally introducing an enterprise-level tier to its design platform. This new plan, Canva Enterprise, is designed to meet the demands of larger organizations by enhancing internal and external visual communications. In essence, it aims to make presentations and data more engaging and readable.

The unveiling of Canva Enterprise at this year’s Canva Create is just one of several new developments. Canva also introduced new design resources tailored for various departments and teams, along with an improved interface scheduled for release in August.

What’s New in Canva?

Canva has long been renowned as a leading free graphic design software, but in recent years, it has expanded beyond its initial focus on marketing and social media. The establishment of a new European HQ and the launch of the Visual Worksuite—a comprehensive business solution including a word processor and website builder—highlight Canva's strategy to attract larger businesses.

Introducing Canva Enterprise:

The Canva Enterprise plan includes secure, scalable cloud storage solutions, integrated AI, collaboration tools, and content creation capabilities. New brand controls will allow organizations to manage assets efficiently, from design elements to sharing permissions. Canva also emphasizes enhanced security features and offers indemnification for AI-generated content to eligible customers.

“As demand for visual content soars, navigating organizational complexity is more challenging than ever. We democratized the design ecosystem in our first decade and now look forward to unifying the fragmented ecosystems of design, AI, and workflow tools for every organization in our second decade,” said Melanie Perkins, co-founder and CEO of Canva.

New Tools and Features:

Alongside Canva Enterprise, Canva is launching Work Kits tailored for sales, marketing, creative, and HR departments. These customizable, branded kits enable teams to scale their output with tools for creating pitch decks, job ads, content calendars, and brand strategy documents. Canva Courses is another new offering designed to transform existing designs into interactive courses for workplace learning.

In August, users can expect a refreshed interface with more accessible tools, customizable homepages, and an improved layout that hides the side-bar when not in use.

Enterprise-Level Capabilities:

Although Canva introduced an enterprise product in 2019, it was primarily aimed at small teams. The new Canva Enterprise is a true enterprise solution with features like single sign-on, enhanced security, centralized brand management, and dedicated support. According to Cam Adams, co-founder and CPO, the company recognized the need for a product suited to larger organizations as their user base grew.

Adams highlighted three key challenges Canva Enterprise addresses: the cross-departmental nature of design, the proliferation of AI tools, and the complexity of workflows. The new version aims to consolidate these elements into one cohesive platform, moving beyond empowering individuals to empowering entire organizations.

Pricing and Market Impact:

The previous version of Canva’s enterprise product will transition to a proper teams product, priced at $100 per seat annually with a three-person minimum. The new enterprise pricing starts at $300 per seat annually, with volume-based discounts available.

Founded in 2012, the Australian company has raised over $560 million and boasts a valuation of $26 billion. Canva currently serves over 180 million monthly users worldwide.
